4-3-2-2 is an utter and complete crapshoot. Most of the drafts have two or three good drafters and five or so complete noobs who pass third pick Lightning Bolts because they're trying to complete a set or are drafting monocolor or are just clicking on things at random.
Thus, the three good drafters have broken decks and the five noobs have awful decks.
Get paired against a good deck first round and you're gone - or at the very least in for a rather tough match. Get a couple good pairings and you're in the finals.
I'd argue you actually learn less from 4-3-2-2 than you do from Swiss.
